YEARS 7 & 8
Students in Years 7 and 8 are taught in a composite class, providing a supportive and connected learning environment. The class is led by a dedicated homeroom teacher who delivers core subjects including English, Mathematics, and Social Sciences, while also supporting the pastoral and wellbeing needs of students. To enrich their learning experience, students also access specialist teaching in a range of curriculum areas delivered through the secondary school. These include Food Technology, Materials Technology, Digital Technologies, Visual Art, and more. This structure provides our Year 7 and 8 students with a strong foundation in both academic learning and practical skills, while supporting a smooth transition into the senior school.

YEARS 9 – 10
In this area of our school year groups have a homeroom teacher to support their pastoral needs. Classes are taught by specialist teachers in specialist rooms (laboratory, workshop, kitchen, computer room etc). Students in these year groups have Mathematics, English, Science, Social Science, and Physical Education courses that run all year. While other curriculum areas work on a rotation to ensure students cover all curriculum areas throughout the year. Most courses lead towards National Certificates of Educational Achievement (NCEA) at Levels 1, 2, or 3 as students began their NCEA years at Yr 11.
